CRONULLA PUBLIC DOMAIN MASTERPLAN
In collaboration with McGregor Westlate Architects, CRED Consulting, Studio GL and Traffix
Location: Cronulla Town Centre
Client: Sutherland Shire Council
Project dates: 2016 - 2017
Gallagher Studio and Landscape Projects were commissioned by Sutherland Shire Council in mid 2016 to develop a Public Domain Master Plan for the Cronulla Town Centre. The team led by Gallagher Studio included public domain artist and architect Peter McGregor of McGregor Westlake, community engagement experts from CRED Consulting, Studio GL Urban Design, Traffix Traffic Engineers and Wilde and Woollard Quantities Surveyors.
Cronulla town centre is a precinct of exceptional historic, recreational and community value. The Public Domain Master Plan aims to enhance the existing spaces within the Cronulla Town Centre and develop new opportunities through well considered and targeted design interventions. The objectives of the plan were to maintain and enhance Cronulla’s distinctive place qualities and role as a town centre and visitor destination, improve access and amenity and provide a comprehensive approach to the long-term development of the public domain within Cronulla.
